Pendulum and Lumiere on the catwalk in Milan? No, you don’t see Disney characters, but Moschino’s latest collection. The ukulele and the watch are just two designs that were presented at Fashion Week yesterday. Fashion editor David Defferendt takes a closer look at the collection: “It’s wearable? No, but that’s not the point.”
Moschino does not like to take himself too seriously. Also during Milan Fashion Week, the luxury brand is working for Many times Mouths open. Creative director Jeremy Scott brings luxurious interiors to life in an iconic way. For example, model Bella Hadid embodied a gilded keyhole and her sister Gigi a bronze statue. But vases, trays, and a chair in the form of clothes were also revised.
Moschino Human Zoo
Although the lively interior quickly brings to mind “Beauty and the Beast,” the Italian fashion house’s fall-winter collection is inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s philosophical masterpiece: “2001: A Space Odyssey.” The show’s decor was almost a replica of the famous interior from the sci-fi movie. “The set is a human zoo for the aliens from the movie, and it’s full of antiques,” says Nina costume editor David Devriendt.
With that, the fashion house does wink at the plot of the 1968 movie. After the fashion show ended, Scott appeared in the famous space suit from the movie and looked around the room as if he had just landed. For example, the creative director explained that the audience is the attraction and the group is just a way to make them think they are ‘home’.
David: “Is the set portable? No not quite. But that is also not Moschino’s intention. The set is actually a fashion that has risen to art. It is meant to provide a humorous balance to the heavier reality of the day. We often see this kind of escape from reality in Fashion house “.
This is the wonderful Moschino collection
