Just over a week ago Super Mario Bros game. film to raise a whopping $150 million in its first North American cinema weekend. The film grossed $377 million worldwide. The second weekend also turned out to be hugely successful.
From Illumination, Universal Pictures and Nintendo, the animated film grossed $87 million in the US and about $350 million after the weekend. The counter stands at $678 million worldwide. Exceeding one billion seems only a matter of time.
Lots of new horror movies
The North American box office top ten welcomed no less than five new titles, including three horror films. Second and fourth place, respectively Exorcist Pope With Russell Crowe Renfield With Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage. Sales did not exceed 10 million dollars.
The third horror movie is Small Scale outrageous Including Sean Patrick Flannery who is in ninth place. Other newcomers are sports dramas Sweetened water and crime comedy Mafia mom.
Dungeons and Dragons flops
Although well received, it turned out Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves financial failure. The $150 million CGI blockbuster made just $157 million after three weekends.
