AirPods Max were launched in December and cost a minimum of 630 euros. Unlike other AirPods, these are not earplugs, but are used as headphones. This makes it easier to steal.

The gang consists of four men on two bikes. The co-driver removes the headphones from the pedestrian’s head, after which they speed off in their car. On January 28th, thieves started robbing. On February 18th, the gang stole ten headphones in the space of an hour. The ages of the victims ranged from 18 to 41 years.
