An analysis by Digital Foundry shows that the Switch (2019) has 40 to 50 percent lower power consumption during gameplay than the original model. The video below shows that the new version only consumes 6-7 watts while running Fast RMX, while the original Switch consumes 12-13 watts at the same point in the game.
At full screen brightness, the new adapter is able to last about 80 percent longer. According to Nintendo, the new Switch has a battery life of between 4.5 and 9 hours. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can run for about 5.5 hours instead of the 3 hours on the current model, which has an average battery life of 2.5 to 6.5 hours.
Published specifications show that the new review of the converter is equipped with a 4,310 mAh battery, which is identical to the capacity of the current model.
