filmIn the biopic “Michael” the King of Pop comes back to life. Lionsgate has just shared the first image from the film, and the actor in question is a replica of the singing legend.
It is important to note that the studio “cheated” a little when searching for a suitable actor. They began searching for him within Michael's family. In the end, they chose Jaafar Jackson (27), Jermaine Jackson's son – and therefore Michael's nephew.
Filming has been underway since January 22, so we finally got to see the first image of Jafar as Michael. “The resemblance is striking,” read the astonishing response on social media. “They look really similar.”
“It's weird that Jafar looks like Michael,” director Antoine Fuqua previously told Entertainment Weekly. “It looks like him and dances like him.”
The studio behind the film promises to “highlight all aspects of Jackson's life”: “from his human side and personal struggles, to his undeniable creative genius. “It will be an honest portrait,” Lionsgate said.
The film is expected to hit theaters in April 2025.
