Olivier Destacht can be seen in the program Special Forces on VTM from April 22. Three years after he stopped playing football, he felt pressure to prove himself.
It is clear that the desire to assert himself is great for Olivier Destacht, he says in an interview with Dag Alimal. “I spent my career disappearing from the picture for a bit, and then something beautiful happened. It's not necessary to do this, but as a former top athlete, it's hard to resist the challenge. “It seems so obvious.
He no longer has a career, but he is actually at the peak of his natural life. “I'm tired of football, but in normal life you're still young. Of course you think about how to make your life meaningful. It doesn't mean I feel pressure to do anything again at a professional level.
Dechacht played football until he was 40, which is a very long time in the world. “So I got my pension. I've always taken good care of myself and trained hard. But after my last day of playing, I let myself go a little bit. So I was happy because after two years, another fun physical challenge came my way.”
Dechachet is regularly in the spotlight regarding his love life. He recently made strong statements about this now that he's single again.
“Friendly communicator. Music trailblazer. Internet maven. Twitter buff. Social mediaholic.”
