After two sprinter stages and a team time trial, it’s the climbers’ turn today to show themselves in Paris-Nice. 2470 altimeters must be overcome on the way to the La Loge des Gardes ski resort. The finish is on top of a first category climb and that could cause fireworks among the GC guys. Follow Flight 4 directly below from 12.40pm.

The wind continues to howl, and the fans can still be used in the run-up to the first climb of the day.

Simon Yates wasn’t surprised either. Jayco AlUla’s team leader is sixth in the standings, 4 seconds behind Vingegaard.
