Gianluigi Donnarumma will have to treat his teammates after tonight. The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper simply gave away the 1-1 equalizer after playing the wrong ball. But the Parisians defended their goalkeeper and overshadowed the incident with a convincing 5-2 victory.
It was not Gianluigi Donnarumma’s night.
After the first goal scored by Gonzalo Ramos, the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper tried to play the ball calmly. But the Italian remained somewhat calm and dropped the skin on the chest of Takumi Minamino, who gratefully accepted the gift and immediately brought Monaco back to the same level.
Paris Saint-Germain players immediately went to console their goalkeeper, but then they did more than just a symbolic act. Before half-time, Kylian Mbappe immediately took the lead from the penalty spot, and after the break PSG scored three more goals.
The Parisians were sure that their goalkeeper’s mistake would remain a mere footnote. Florian Balogun’s goal eventually secured a convincing 5-2 win for the home team.
