Philips Hue gets more options on Samsung TVs

Last year there was a new option for Samsung TVs. Signify and Samsung announced a partnership during CES 2023 in Las Vegas. You no longer need a Sync Box, but the Philips Hue Sync TV app has been introduced. This allowed you to sync everything shown on your Samsung TV with the lights. However, the application was not cheap. You had to pay at least 130 euros for it.

Apparently this was too much for a lot of people, because now there is another new option. Subscription form for Philips Hue Sync TV app. For €2.99 per month, you can use the Philips Hue Sync TV app to sync Philips Hue bulbs with images on your Samsung TV. For optimal effect, of course, get the Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip and stick it behind your TV. So you really have the Ambilight effect.

Integration also within SmartThings

The Philips Hue Sync TV app will also be integrated into the SmartThings app starting in the spring, so you have more options at your disposal. Consider routine, for example. There will also be a music mode to sync the music with the lights. The Philips Hue Sync TV app works with Samsung TVs from 2022 and later (Q60 and later).
