The 911 Turbo 3.6 (from the 964 series) was auctioned for $1.3 million, or about 1.1 million euros. A buyer who was willing to pay that much money for a glossy black Porsche is undoubtedly happy, but the original owner of the car certainly isn’t.
This is actually the director of the movie from the 90s Michael Bay (56). As director and producer, among other things, Pearl Harbor (2001) writes in a message on Instagram, he made his Porsche available at the time to record bad boys. Later he sold the 964 Turbo to a friend for $60,000 (about $53,000).
“Oh man, I was stupid”
With the exorbitant price tag of a Porsche now under the hammer, he regrets it: “Man, I was stupid not to keep it,” Michael Bay wrote. “I sold it to a friend at the time because I loved it.”
Perhaps this friend is less happy. According to Michael Bay, the Porsche film sold for only $45 thousand (about $40 thousand).
