“The world is very vulnerable right now,” Harry and Meghan wrote on their foundation’s Archewell website on Tuesday. The fact that the Taliban has taken over Afghanistan hurts the Sussex and leaves them speechless. The devastating earthquake in Haiti also hit them hard. “We are all seeing how the humanitarian catastrophe in Haiti is spreading and threatening to get worse after last weekend’s earthquake, we are devastated.”
The “ongoing global health crisis” that the world is going through due to the Corona pandemic has raised the couple’s fears. “It is exacerbated by new variables and persistent misinformation.”
Harry and Meghan themselves are supporting charities committed to Afghanistan, Haiti and the coronavirus pandemic and are calling on people to support the organizations as well. “It’s easy to feel powerless, but we can put our values into practice together.”
The prince previously said that the veterans who, like him, served in Afghanistan should now be there for each other. According to Harry, many of the participants in the Invictus Games, the sports tournament for soldiers and veterans with physical or mental injuries, were also in the country. “We encourage everyone in the Invictus Network – and the broader military community – to reach out and support one another.”
