PropertyCelebrate today at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague, because Dutch Princess Amalia blew out eighteen candles. A special day, because from now on she can succeed King Willem-Alexander once and for all as Head of State. On the occasion of this anniversary, the State Information Service made some photos available.
Also watch Princess Amalia’s candid interview:
Photographer Frank Reuter took the pictures a short time ago at Huis Ten Bosch. He said it was a “great honor” to take a picture of the princess: “As a little boy with my camera, I would never have dreamed that I would photograph the future Queen.”
Amalia posing in different outfits. She can be seen in a few photos in a chaste red MaxMara dress (559 euros), but she can also be admired in a charming dark dress by LaDress (259 euros). Remarkably, in the photos where her hands are shown, she has wrapped them together.
A significant event for Amalia today is that she is officially “established” in the State Council in the presence of her parents. You will be sworn in as a special member of this most important ministerial advisory body in the ballroom of Kneuterdijk Palace. However, she does not have voting rights: her membership is purely ceremonial. The idea is that by attending meetings she can prepare for her subsequent role as queen.
Check out all the photos of Amalia below, which were taken on her 18th birthday. Play the Amalia Quiz within the photo series.
