Slightly Mad Studios has delivered some solid racing games with its Project CARS franchise and was at one point developing the next installment, Project CARS 4. However, in November last year, it was announced that Electronic Arts – the parent company of Codemasters of Slightly Mad Studios – that all future development of Project CARS has ceased, effectively canceling the next installment.
And while the future of the franchise seems uncertain at best, fans recently got a glimpse of what that might look like – a very preliminary and early glimpse, to say the least. Shared by the Game Over Tapes YouTube channel, a new video shows some early drafts of the in-game 3D UI created for Project CARS 4 before its cancellation, allegedly created by UI artist Christian McMorran. Check it out below.
Since the announcement of the Project CARS franchise’s suspension last year, neither EA nor Slightly Mad Studios have said anything about what the latter will be working on next. Shortly after said announcement, former Slightly Mad co-founder Ian Bell stated that he intended to hire members of the series’ development team for his new studio, Mildly Annoyed Games, and its companion racing game.
