Qatar Airways has placed two major orders with US aircraft maker Boeing. The airline will purchase 34 777X freighters and 25 737 Max 10 aircraft.
In addition, Qatar Airways has made options to purchase an additional 16 777x aircraft and 25 737 Max 10 aircraft. The agreement between the airline and Boeing was signed at the White House. The Qatari leader is currently visiting Washington. The deal is worth billions of dollars, but discounts are usually offered for large orders.
Qatar Airways is in conflict with European Airbus, which recently canceled an order for fifty A321neo planes from the company. There is a dispute between Airbus and Qatar Airways over the A350.
According to Qatar Airways, there are problems with the coating layer and this is the reason for these aircraft being discontinued. The airline wants high compensation, but Airbus doesn’t.
