In December, fans of Rebel Wilson will see a whole different side of the comedic actress. She starred in the drama film, The Almond and the Seahorse. She plays an archaeologist whose husband suffers a traumatic brain injury, which leads her to begin an affair. She told The Hollywood Reporter that the character was originally intended to be a man, but she herself suggested casting a woman. “Pierce Brosnan was supposed to play the part, but the schedules didn’t match. I thought we should open it up to a woman. Then they offered Charlotte the part.”
She continues, “I don’t know why I said that, but I felt like it could work. I’ve been in a situation with a woman before, no sexual relationship and we hadn’t even kissed or anything. But suddenly the kiss came out with Charlotte.” This experience changed everything. “Kissing her in my professional life made me think, ‘Maybe I should really do this in my personal life and see how it goes.’ And that’s exactly what I did.” The movie Kiss took place in 2021. “At the end of that year I met Ramona.”

The kiss changed everything
Ramona and Rebel have been a couple for quite some time now. But without her kissing experience, things could have turned out completely differently. “If I hadn’t had the experience on set or the experience with that other woman, I don’t know if I would have met Ramona. It opened my heart to the possibility. I’m thankful that it completely changed my love life. That’s amazing.”
The Almond and the Seahorse will be released on December 16th.
