The competition format in the Jupiler Pro League will remain unchanged in the coming seasons. Ultimately, the professional clubs did not find consensus on the necessary reforms. Therefore, the points will continue to be halved, although many people involved are not in favor of this at all.
Last month, representatives of the Belgian professional clubs met to discuss competition reforms. But positions differed so much that the required majority was not achieved to change the format of the competition. So in the coming years everything will remain as it was last season.

But at the end of that meeting there was an attempt to at least halve the points. But since this (the current format without halving the points) was not part of the original agenda, according to the regulations, everyone had to vote for it to pass.
However, such a unanimous majority was not found. After all, some clubs only wanted to make a concession if they got something in return. But this halving of points gradually became a thorn in the side of most supporters, analysts … and even players.
Lucky for the club
