Portugal completed the qualifying period for the European Championship in Germany without losing any points. Roberto Martinez’s team also won the last match against Iceland without too many problems and can therefore boast a perfect score: 30 out of 30.

There is no longer much at stake for Portugal against Iceland. The Portuguese are already certain of winning the group and their place in the first pot of the draw.

However, national team coach Roberto Martinez has fielded his strongest team, and we know how important the qualifying matches are to him. Iceland has simply fallen into the grip of the axe.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Ricardo Horta, before and one after half-time, gave Martinez a carefree evening.

Thanks to the new victory, Portugal became the only country with the highest number of points in qualifying this year, and Slovakia already secured second place.
