But Oura now has a patent for this last aspect. And it looks like there are four more with which Oura can make things difficult for Samsung. Why Samsung is interested in its new devices: The more well-known and “established” the gadget becomes, the harder it will be for a judge to rule in favor of Oura. It’s interesting whether it will actually end this way, but it looks like the two still have something to fight.

It’s also interesting for Oura: How very powerful is the company when it comes to this industry? If the famous Samsung company enters its market, the question is whether Ora will not lose a lot of share. After all, everyone already knows Samsung and they can put the smart ring on the map in one fell swoop. Maybe Oura will eventually be able to reap the benefits, as there will be more focus on this area, but it will initially feel threatened by Samsung and that may be true.

We’ve yet to hear about additional specs and especially the price of the Galaxy Watch, so there are definitely still things that could give it pause. However, the main question for Samsung itself now is whether Oura is the one to pre-guarantee that Samsung will not be allowed to market smart rings.
