Tom Sizemore has passed away at the age of 61. Two weeks ago, the American actor was hospitalized due to an aneurysm of a brain vein. He ended up in a coma and died shortly after being taken off the ventilator, his manager, Charles Lago, said.
Sizemore is best known for his roles as a war-hardened sergeant alongside Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan (1998) and as an army battalion commander in Black Hawk Down (2001). He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the year 2000 for his performance in ‘Protection of Witness’. Other movies he has acted in include “Natural Born Killers”, “Pearl Harbor” and “Heat”.
But Sizemore also had an addiction problem, reports the BBC. As a result, he ended up in jail several times. A 2007 documentary series followed Sizemore as he tried to get his life and career back on track. He was never matched by the success of his roles in the ’90s, but more recently he has had a guest appearance in the hit Netflix movie “Cobra Kai” and a recurring role in the revival of “Twin Peaks” (David’s TV series).
