Dortmund striker Sebastian Haller has received bad news. During the examination, a tumor in his testicle was discovered in the Ivorian attacker. “We will do everything in our power to ensure that he receives the best possible treatment,” Dortmund said.
Sebastian Haller has just made the move from Ajax to Dortmund, bringing the striker in as successor to Erling Haaland. During training camp with his new club, he felt unwell on Monday, after which he underwent an extensive medical examination.
During those examinations, doctors diagnosed a Haller’s tumor in the testicle. Dortmund says Haller will undergo additional tests at a specialized medical center in the next few days.
“This news came as a shock to Sebastian and all of us,” sporting director Sebastian Kell told the club’s website. “The entire Dortmund family wishes him a speedy and complete recovery. We hope to be able to hug him again soon.”
“We will do everything we can to make sure he gets the best treatment possible.”
Haller: ‘I feel like I don’t deserve this’
Haller has received tremendous support across social media. The Evrian striker responds to this for the first time: “I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the warm messages I’ve received. It means a lot to me to see all those lovely reactions.”
“I will now focus on my recovery so that I can come back stronger,” he continues to fight. “It feels like I don’t deserve it, but thanks to you I know I’m getting out of this. I’ll see you again on the field soon to celebrate our next victories.”
