For many players, the season is not over yet because of all the good things the European Championship has to offer. Someone who can have a good time is Simone Mignolet. The club’s goalkeeper went on holiday feeling happy and has now shared a sweet photo on Instagram.
A short thunderstorm, then the sky clears
The least that can be said is that Club Brugge had a surprising season. Blauw-Zwart drifted through regular competition under Deila, but was still active in Europe at the same time.
In the Conference League, Brugge almost had their fairy tale crowned with a place in the final (Fiorentina were too strong in the final), but that was only a harbinger of a stunning end to the season.
The club, captained by Nicky Hayne, started the play-offs a mile away. After a massive catch-up race, it was Bart Verhaeghe’s club that were eventually crowned national champions.
Back with gold edge
One of the strong men at Blauw-Zwart in recent years is undoubtedly Simon Mignolet. After years of activity abroad, he made a surprise return to Belgium a few years ago.
That comeback became a huge success story, and Mignolet entered the holiday with a new title. There he enjoys a healthy portion of family happiness with his wife and children. The photo below has already received enthusiastic feedback:
