Nicky Hayne was sent to the stands ten minutes before time. He received two yellow cards from the referee in just a few seconds.
Simon Mignolet was visibly happy after Club Brugge’s win over RSC Anderlecht. It’s not about the game presented, but the tactics agreed upon and executed very well.
“It was a good match tactically,” said Eleven/DAZN’s Simon Mignolet. “The differences were small. We controlled the game in the first half. In the second half, Anderlecht had more possession of the ball, but we dominated without wasting many chances.”
Club Brugge had the best chances but forgot to score. “We were able to make things easier for ourselves by finishing off the chances we had. But the goal was to win and we succeeded.”
The match tactics are clear
The goal was actually to score the second goal. “But you also know that you have to stay calm when Anderlecht are looking for an equalizer. To win here 0-1 is a great result. Everyone is getting their shirts wet for the club.”
Club Brugge loses its coach, Nicky Hain, with a red card. Whether that will be a big problem for the match against Circle is not an immediate issue.
“Our plan was clear before today’s match. This will also be the case next week,” Mignolet concluded. And who knows, Club Brugge may appeal the suspension proposal and Hein may be on the bench after all.
