Red Nose Day – an initiative of VTM, HLN, Qmusic and Belfius – was organized for the first time in six years. The charity campaign wanted to remove the mental problems of young people from the taboo and make them debatable. Each year, various actions were taken to raise funds. But this story ends now. The gap left by Red Nose Day is being filled by a new concept for youth, which is currently being finalized. It has not yet been announced exactly what will happen. What is certain is that this time it should be broader than just mental problems. “We go back to the core of who young people are and what critical role they play in our society,” says Chris Verfait, CEO of DPG Media Belgium, and Olivier Onklin, member of the Belvius Management Committee. “We believe strongly in the power of this generation and we want to put them in the spotlight. We want, more than ever, to give young people a voice and discover with all Flanders what they can do. Our message to everyone who believes in us is what young people have to offer us: Watch channels Call us and clear your agenda for the Spring of 2023!”
In October, the Sidekick Sam Academy, a platform developed specifically for educators who want to go the extra mile within the school to give young people a listening ear, will begin.
