Soudal Quick-Step and BORA-hansgrohe have announced that some of their riders will switch to the WorldTour in 2024. On the Belgian team, William Jr. Leserve, Gilles and War Vangelo matter, on the German team Emil Herzog and Alexander Hayek are the lucky ones.
Transfers Director Patrick Lefebvre, Soudal Quick-Step Manager, explains: “Jill, William and Warr turned professional after a successful stint with the Soudal Quick-Step Devo team and that says a lot about the excellent work that has been done there. All three have had great results this year and they all have the ability are growing, so we can’t wait to see them in action next season.”
The results Lefevere is talking about include a stage in the Giro Next Gen (van Gelders), victories in Gullegem Koerse and Hel van Voerendaal (van Vangheluwe) and a top ten finish in the final classification for the Giro Next Gen (from Lecerf).
Herzog, the 2022 World Junior Champion, switches from Hagens Biermann-Acsion to BORA-hansgrohe. Herzog was born in 2004 and is still only 18 years old. Hajek, on the other hand, is from 2003. The Austrian comes from KTM Tyrol.
