The first fully private manned mission to the International Space Station was completed on Monday.
Hanging from four parachutes, the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule exploded in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Florida at approximately 7:08 p.m. Belgian time after a (extended) seventeen-day mission. On board were four people, including three space tourists: former Spanish-American NASA astronaut Michael Lopez Alegria, American businessman Larry Connor, Canadian investor Mark Pathy and Dutch-Israeli entrepreneur and pilot Eitan Stipe.
Meanwhile, the four left the capsule that had been caught. They had departed for the space volcano from Cape Canaveral in Florida on April 8. Due to bad weather in the landing area, the return was delayed several times. Axiom Space’s first mission ends immediately.
