Storms and tornadoes kill 15 in Central America

Several storms and tornadoes have killed at least 15 people in Central America. Hundreds of people were injured and nearly half a million were without electricity.

The states of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky and Texas are particularly affected. Many houses there have been completely damaged and the roads have become impassable due to fallen trees.

Many Americans had a long weekend and were on the road during the storms. Many rest stops along the highway where people were sheltering from the weather were completely destroyed. Experts estimated that the wind speed was 200 kilometers per hour.

According to meteorologists, storms are now moving east of the country, into Alabama and New York. Officials are urging residents to take precautions. Millions of people will be affected by the storm.

Central America has experienced several severe storms and hurricanes this month. Last week, five people were killed by powerful tornadoes in Iowa. America had the most hurricanes ever in April.
