No sense of humor? No problem! Only two Danish programmersmemecamLaunched, it is an app that takes a photo and turns it into a meme in seconds to share on WhatsApp family.

Memecam – of course – uses artificial intelligence to turn your photos into funny ones. All you have to do is take one with your smartphone camera, wait a few seconds and the result is there. At the moment only in English, unfortunately. But the memes are very funny. For example, the HLN Live news desk:

A colleague’s big Easter egg quiz yielded a huge supply of round chocolate candies in the editorial office, which also lends itself to creating a meme. This is automatically thrown from the mind of the Memecam computer:

How it works?

Memecam uses two methods to create memes. The application first recognizes what is in the images with an extension BLIP. Explains what can be seen and describes it in a short text. These few sentences are sent to ChatGPT in a second stage, which then makes up the joke. The software puts this on the image and sends the result back to your smartphone.

for help

You can help Memecam improve the score, because sometimes it’s hard for the app to estimate what it can see. For example, he will not know that the person in the photo is your friend or brother. It is then possible to enter some keywords. By the photo of the news studio, for example, we ourselves indicated that it was about the VTMNEWS bureau:

free memecam (Try it for yourself here). Danish programmers Andreas Refsgaard and Frederik Lauenborg ask for a voluntary contribution via their site if you use the app a lot. But everyone else can enjoy it. They themselves warn that it is a beta version that sometimes produces strange results.

“Memecam sometimes produces results that don’t take into account social sensitivities,” they say. Therefore, we invite users to handle it responsibly. And share responsibly.” The app itself does not save photos.
