“Regional airports are gaining more and more popularity,” said CEO Eric Dumas. “Passengers travel here without stress and don’t have to be there three hours early. For many, this is a deciding factor in choosing a regional departure.”
Antwerp expects 70,000 passengers in July and August. The airport hopes to surpass 2019 passenger numbers this summer. Travelers can choose from 12 destinations in Spain, Greece, Morocco, Turkey, Croatia and the United Kingdom. Thanks to TUI’s new airliner, the Embraer E195-E2, destinations as far away as Tenerife, Crete and Antalya are served from the coastal city for the first time.
In addition to TUI fly, ASL Fly Executive and Luxair also operate flights in the summer. ASL flies twice a week between 30 June and 21 August from Antwerp to Ibiza and four times a week to London throughout the summer holidays.
Ostend Airport expects 90,000 passengers in July and August. This number is in line with last summer’s passenger numbers. Travelers can once again choose from thirteen Spanish, Greek and Turkish destinations on TUI fly, the only airline for travelers. For the first time since 2019, travelers can also travel to Antalya again. Destination Turkey is served three times a week. The top 3 summer destinations from Ostend are Alicante, Malaga, and Tenerife.
