In the week of November 7 to 13, an average of 10,283 new cases of corona were detected daily in Belgium. This is a 27 percent increase over the previous week. This appears Wednesday morning from data from the Sciensano Health Institute.
The number of hospital admissions also continues to show an upward trend. Between November 10 and 16, an average of 238.4 people per day were hospitalized with Covid-19. This is 21 percent more than the previous week.
As a result, there are now 2,693 COVID-19 patients in Belgian hospitals (+25 percent), of whom 557 are in intensive care (+28 percent).
Moreover, from November 7 to 13, an average of 25.6 people died a day after contracting the coronavirus. This is also an increase compared to the previous week (+11 percent). The total death toll in Belgium is now 26,444.
