A large-scale study of the implementation of the four-day work week turned out to be more successful than expected.
Why is this important?
The five-day work week is becoming less popular. Since November 2022, it is also possible in Belgium to do a full-time job in four days. Although not everyone is convinced yet, there are more and more voices championing the benefits of the four-day work week.In the news: For the experiment, 61 British companies with a total of about 3,000 employees reduced their work week to four days for six months.
- The aim of the experiment was to see if reducing working time by 20 percent would have an effect on productivity. Workers would still earn the same amount and were expected to perform tough during a five-day week.
