Club BruggePending the transfer of outgoing Charles de Kettleri, Club Brugge is set with a summer addition number 5. 18-year-old defender Joel Ordonez is in Belgium for his medical – blue and black pay under four million.
After Meijer, Jutglà, Larin and Nielsen, Joel Ordóñez can also call himself a Club Brugge player – provided he gets good tests. The talented 18-year-old from Ecuador will sign his contract with Blauw-Zwart this weekend. The center back comes from Independiente del Valle, who finally broke through with him in the spring after shining with the U20 side at the Copa Libertadores. He was also part of the championship team after the losing final. The club pays 4 million dollars – converted ie sloppy 3.9 million euros.
In recent months, Ordoñez has been linked in his country to Ajax, Eindhoven, Benfica and … AC Milan, among others. In the end, it was Club Brugge who convinced him with his project. In principle, a strong central defender is part of the core, as despite its young age, it is more or less seen as a reinforcement that can be deployed immediately. If the adjustment is bigger than expected, there is still a Club NXT safety net.

Ordóñez’s arrival has no consequences for Jack Hendry at the moment. Although the Scotsman has ended up in the stands in recent games, Klopp still believes in him. He has proven this by turning down several offers, including from Burnley, in recent weeks. Germany’s Wolfsburg is also interested, but the Scotland international is not allowed to leave until further notice.
