Club Brugge have managed to raise a lot of money again this transfer window by selling players. Igor Thiago and Antonio Nusa, among others, have seriously dented the club’s coffers. Revenue could rise even more thanks to a former player.
Blauw-Zwart has not always been successful in its buying policy in recent seasons. Expensive purchases such as Kamal Sowah, David Okereke and especially Roman Yaremchuk have yielded very little return. On the other hand, the club has managed to attract some young talents for a small sum and then sell them on for a big profit.
Six out of 20 million and more
The West Flemish have been making an impression on the mainly outgoing side for some time. During the current transfer window, for example, Igor Thiago and Antonio Nusa were sold for a huge profit to Brentford FC and RB Leipzig respectively. In the best case scenario, they could collect more than €60 million combined.
However, this is not the first time that Blau Zwart has managed to complete transfers of this magnitude, as the player has received an additional €20 million on six occasions. For example, Charles De Ketelaere was sold to Milan for around €30 million. Wesley Moraes brought in around €25 million at the time, and last summer Abakar Sylla cost €20 million.
Resale Price Percentage
The sixth name on that list is Odilon Kossounou. The Ivorian defender was able to capitalize on his good performances for the club in the summer of 2021 by moving to Bayer Leverkusen. Blau Zwart then received a basic fee of €24 million, but this could still be increased significantly through bonuses. Now it seems that the club has managed to pass the payment process again thanks to Kossounou.
The defender is on the verge of a move to the Premier League. That’s what reports say. Kicker Crystal Palace are reportedly willing to pay around €45m for his arrival. That’s good news for Blauw-Zwart. The well-known video analyst knows that the Belgian champions are entitled to a percentage of the resale price. Although it’s not clear at the moment what that figure is.
Here too, Club Brugge will occasionally pass the cash register. If the report is correct, it will be sold for a capital gain of around 22 million. https://t.co/4pqvYwGjTa
