This is what Digimon game producer Kazumasu Habu said in a Q&A during Digimon Con 2022 (via jimatsu† “We have received a lot of requests for a port or remake of the original Digimon World. I am thinking of that positively. But at the same time, I am also thinking of a better option: a port, or a remake, or a remake.”
“If you choose a port or a recharger, I think there is a fair chance [dat de game gemaakt wordt]† If you want a new version, we need to think about how many additional items we need to bring into the game,” Happo told the audience.
He continues, “Digimon World has a very good balance between File Island – the theater – and the Digimon that appears there. If we want to add a new region – for example Folder Continent – or a new Digimon, I think we should treat the game as a new product rather than remaking it.”
“I would be grateful if you would share your opinions with me. Please let us know your opinions in the comments sections or elsewhere,” Happo concluded.
Digimon World is the first Digimon game developed by Bandai. It was released in 1999 for PlayStation and later came to PC. Several Digimon games were released in the decades since, most recently Digimon World: Next Order International Edition (2017) and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2018). The rpg Digimon Survive is planned for this year.
