Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas talks about a “massacre.” Meanwhile, Hamas called on all Palestinians living outside the Gaza Strip to protest. “These are Palestinians in the West Bank, in East Jerusalem, but also abroad. Israeli attacks continue in Rafah despite the decision of the International Court of Justice in The Hague to suspend the attack in the southern city. Israel seemed unmoved: minutes after the ruling was issued, Israel carried out another air strike on Rafah, which also led to the deaths of civilians.
The international community has already pointed out the importance of adhering to the decision of the International Court of Justice. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock responded that “international humanitarian law applies to everyone, including Israel’s conduct in war.”
The United States previously responded to the Israeli newspaper The Times of Israel, saying: “We have been clear and consistent in our position regarding Rafah.” US President Biden had previously stated several times that he was against the ground attack in Rafah.
