American d. Agus recently promoted his new book on national television with appearances on CBS News and “The Howard Stern Show” and it was initially a success as expected. The book The Animal Secrets Book: Nature’s Lessons for a Long and Happy Life was released on March 7 and was number one on Amazon’s list of best-selling animal books a week before it was published.
The Los Angeles Times found that readers can find most animal mysteries for free on the Internet. The book contains at least 95 pages of plagiarism, copied from sources such as the New York Times, National Geographic, and the websites of academic institutions, as well as Wikipedia. No source was cited for the respective clips.
The La Times contacted Dr. Agos and the book’s publisher, Simon & Schuster, after their findings. Both announced yesterday that the book will be discontinued and that it will be rewritten immediately.
It was recently pointed out to me that in writing The Book of Animal Secrets we used passages from various sources without attribution, and that we used words from other authors. I would like to offer my sincere apologies to the scholars and writers whose work or words have been used or not fully credited.” “I take any allegation of plagiarism seriously.”
“Creator. Award-winning problem solver. Music evangelist. Incurable introvert.”
