The new variant brings with it different symptoms.
Now that we’ve been living in a pandemic for nearly two years, most of us are familiar with the most well-known symptoms of the coronavirus. However, experts believe that the new Omicron variant also causes other symptoms.
Other symptoms
Scientists are busy investigating Omicron, so many questions remain. However, previous reports have shown that Omicron is different from previous Covid variants. For example, serious symptoms may now be much less. Scientists from South Africa, who were the first to discover the new alternative, said that the majority of patients with Omicron do not need oxygen. It seems to hit the lungs less.
Women’s health in the UK Talk to Professor Tim Spector, a genetic epidemiologist at King’s College London, who revealed the symptoms to watch for:
- Headache
- sore throat
- fatigue
- Runny nose
- sneezing
Only then do the above symptoms follow the classic symptoms of covid infection, although more than 50% of people do not have this at the moment:
- Fever
- cough
- loss of sense of smell
milder
Patients mainly experience fatigue, but do not lose their taste and smell. Symptoms appear to be milder with a sore throat and headache than with other variants involving a high fever and breathing problems. The professor stresses that, as with all variables, it also depends on your age and general health. So one can always experience it more intensely than the other.
