The number of complaints the LAKS working group received about the first day of students’ final exams rose to nearly 50,000 on Friday. This is above average, the spokesperson reports. Thursday evening the counter was still open 31000 complaints.
To date, LAKS has received nearly 30,000 complaints about the second day of the central exam. The speaker talks about a “quiet day”. This number could also go up.
Most complaints were about the math A exam for Hafu. For example, students complained that there were many long and vague stories in the exam. In their opinion, it was “reading a lot and counting a little,” according to LAKS.
Several complaints were also received about Mathematics B, which according to HAVO students would be very similar to the Physics exam, and about the VWO Exam in Biology. For one of the questions in this test, the answer choice will not be wide enough.
Complaint about Holland, German and Biology
Most complaints about the first exam day on Thursday were related to the final exams in Dutch for VWO, Biology for VMBO and German for HAVO students.
On the first day of final exams for students in 2021, LAKS More than 22000 complaints. They also had to do so with the Corona measures that were still in place at the time.
Last year, LAKS received more than 212,000 complaints in the first period alone, a record number. According to the students, this is mainly due to the consequences of the Corona pandemic. Students found themselves at home during the lockdown and faced stress and insecurity.
Students who have complaints about final exams can contact a telephone team of ten between 12:00 and 19:00. Students can submit complaints online 24 hours a day.
