RHOON – “Project Space” was launched at OBS De Overkant and several other schools in Rhoon and Poortugaal.
Early in the morning suddenly something very strange happened. In the middle of the hall there was a huge stone from which smoke came out. There were signs around him saying beware of radiation danger and no one knew where it suddenly came from. At some point, the children heard noises that made it seem as if the stone was beginning to crack and crack. An astronaut emerged from a stone that fell from space.
This one has already flown across the entire Milky Way in search of a suitable place to live.
In the coming weeks, students will conduct research into a suitable place for an astronaut to live. The entire universe is explored and each group also receives their own planet/gas orb to investigate deeper.
The idea for this school-level project arose after Rotarian Ron Barendrecht and
Rotary Botlek invited the Year 7 students on a trip they will never forget, a ride on Spacebuzz. This launch will take place on Friday 15 March in the parking lot of Het Kasteel van Rhoon.
