The U.S. Air Transport Commission is reviewing safety reviews …

The FAA is investigating allegations of insecurity in the Blue Origin space agency of billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

According to a group of employees and ex-employees, Blue Origin prioritizes speed and cost savings over resources to ensure quality when making decisions.

An employee who claims he was unfairly fired two years ago is the driving force behind the allegations. But according to the FAA, it does not matter exactly who is getting the charges. The controller said any allegations related to security would be taken seriously.

In addition to the questionable safety choices, Blue Origin is said to have a ‘toxic’ workplace culture. Also, a few years ago a high-profile driver was charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse. But according to critics it would never have been done.

‘Always Safe’

Blue Origin said in a statement that it would investigate new allegations of misconduct. The company emphasizes that its new Shepherd is the safest spacecraft ever designed or built.

Last summer, Rich Bezos personally went into space with the new Shepherd. Blue Origin wants to sell tourist aircraft on the edge of the atmosphere. Bezos’ company is in fierce competition with many billionaires such as Richard Branson (Virgin Galactic) and Elon Musk (SpaceX).
