The all-electric Volvo EX90 gets a more modest single-wheel drive version. The rear-wheel drive Volvo EX90 is slightly less powerful than the EX90 as we’ve known it so far, but of course it’s also less expensive. Starting prices for the EX90 Twin Motor are also dropping thanks to the new versions.
The Volvo EX90 was introduced at the end of last year with two electric motors on board and all-wheel drive, but of course it will not stop at those two-engine versions 408 to 517 hp. Volvo is now adding the EX90 single-engine to the lineup, which is of course a bit less expensive. Where prices for the Volvo EX90 Twin Motor start at €88,995, the Volvo EX90 Single Engine is available from €83,495. An advantage over 5,000 euros, although you have to sacrifice some power for this. The single-engine Volvo EX90 has a power of 279 hp and 490 Nm on the rear axle. Volvo has yet to report how smooth the EX90 will be with this. It is known that with the single engine EX90 you can tow up to 1,200 kilograms, and with the twin engine it is up to 2,200 kilograms.
The single-engine Volvo EX90 has a slightly smaller battery pack, with a capacity of 104 kWh. Small difference with the total capacity of 111 kWh in the Twin Motor versions. The single-engine is slightly more efficient (19.9 kWh / 100 km) and comes with approx. The Volvo EX90 Single Engine has a range of up to 580 km (WLTP), where the Twin Motor can reach 585 km.
Pricing starts at €83,495 for the EX90’s single-drive as Core, the new standard version. It distinguishes itself, among other things, in terms of appearance from the more luxurious version, also the new Plus version, with different matte black instead of high-gloss black accents. Inside you have less mood lighting and have to do without a head-up display and a Bose sound system with 14 speakers, although the EX90 actually has a powerful 325W system with more than ten speakers as standard. The Volvo EX90 single engine plus costs €87,995, surcharge €4,500.
Twin Motor versions now also have a lower starting price, thanks to the arrival of the Core and Plus versions. Previously only available as Ultra. The starting price of the twin-engined Volvo EX90 one-stroke drops by €10,200 and the price of the twin-engined Volvo EX90 twin-stroke by €5,700. You can order right away.
