On the night of April 18, 2022, Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc fell victim to a robbery when thieves in the Tuscan town of Viareggio stole his €300,000 Richard Mille watch on Easter Monday.
Two suspects, posing as fans, wanted to have their picture taken with the Formula 1 driver and Monegasque agreed. The thieves snatched the expensive watch from his wrist and fled on a motorbike before handing the watch over to accomplices in a gray van.
An ingenious plan was needed to get away from the Formula 1 pilot, because police photos show Leclerc chasing his Ferrari 488 Pista with a top speed of 330 kilometers per hour and acceleration from 0 to 100 in 3 seconds.
