This dazzling Nike jacket with tiny LEDs responds to sound

It has an almost hypnotic effect, the particular Nike jacket worn by French rapper Takeola in Paris. It contains no less than 3,875 small LED lights that light up the vest in circular patterns. Even the Eiffel Tower is a bit less obvious, although it also knows its magic when it comes to lighting effects.

The jacket was made by Nike, but the sports brand didn't have the mini LED lights. Designer Clara Dagen is responsible for this. It must have been quite a task for Clara and her team to connect all those little LED lights to the Nike jacket, but also set them up correctly. They appear to be joining rapper Takeola, and it's not because the lights are programmed specifically for his music: these lights respond to sound.

In the video for the song “X”, which was filmed in Paris, Takiola wore an artistic dress. It almost looks like fireworks, and the lighting is so bright. We know micro LEDs from TVs, among other things, because thanks to micro LED it is possible to achieve fantastic brightness and at the same time make the screen black. Micro LEDs are actually very small and bright lights and this is clearly reflected on the jacket.

Clara Daguin is a designer who should keep an eye on those who love to combine fashion and technology. She creates “computational couture” and researches glow-in-the-dark fashion. For example, it previously made puffer jackets that can respond to a person looking at them thanks to motion sensors. When motion was detected, the clothes faded from light blue to orange-red.

Now a custom-made Nike jacket looks like fireworks with tiny LED lights and the ability to respond to music. This jacket is reminiscent of the attractive light jacket she wears David Hasselhoff She once sang at the Berlin Wall, but at a technically advanced level. Thus, more exciting pieces of tech clothing have emerged recently, like this interactive dress from Adobe.
