The Fussballliebe has a white background color with several elongated triangles, each of which is a combination of black with a bright light color such as orange, yellow and green.
“The ball consists of 20 grooved panels that have been tested in the laboratory and on the field to improve accuracy and stability in the air for maximum accuracy,” said the ball’s manufacturer, Adidas.
“The Fusballliebe” is made from recycled polyester, water-based ink and several bio-based products such as corn fiber, sugarcane and wood pulp.
The names of the host cities appear on the ball, each with an illustration of the stadiums where the matches will be played.
The Fussballliebe is also equipped with “connected ball technology”, which can send data to VAR in real time and thus help in making the right decisions in case of doubt.
“In the center of the ball is an IMU motion sensor that provides insight into every element of the ball’s movement,” she said.
“Connected Ball technology, which combines player location data with artificial intelligence, contributes to UEFA’s semi-automated offside technology and thus plays an important role in supporting faster match decisions.”
The Fussballliebe was presented on Wednesday at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, where the European Championship final will be held on July 14 next year.
