Google shows what the new Wear OS 3 software will look like on upcoming smartwatches. For now, Samsung has only released a Wear OS 3 watch, but with its own software shell.

Google shows Wear OS 3 ‘vanilla’
The outlook for Wear OS 3 comes via an emulator that allows app developers to try out the software on PC. 9to5Google Spotted the latest version of the emulator, revealing what a regular version of Wear OS 3 will look like.
The program displays new menus with rounded designs and the battery screen has been modified. The new look reminds us of the look Android 12 on smart phones. Adjusting the volume on the smartwatch will soon be easier with the clear plus and minus buttons. Google has removed icons from many buttons to simplify programs and notes 9to5Google.
Also new is the Health Services menu, which – currently – contains options for your gender, height and weight. This service is linked to Google Fit and – yet? – Not for Fitbit. Google said in May, when it unveiled Wear OS 3, that it would integrate Fitbit features into its smartwatch platform. Nothing is visible yet.
Open recently used apps faster
Vanilla Wear OS 3 also fixes the app menu. The screen now shows the most recently used apps at the top, followed by all the other apps. Adjustments have also been made around the choice of the watch face.
New Wear OS 3 smartwatches
The look at Vanilla Wear OS 3 is great because Google has only shared a few images of what the software will look like on smartwatches.
