Unsubscribe from newsletters in Gmail
Every once in a while, a newsletter adds virtually nothing to your inbox: we all know that. Another sale at a small discount, or an email with boring recommendations that don't interest you.
Fortunately, Google has realized that we like to unsubscribe from newsletters easily and quickly, without having to “unsubscribe.”
If you open Gmail on desktop or in a browser, you'll probably already see the button: When you open a newsletter, there'll be a blue button with “Unsubscribe” at the top next to the sender.
Depending on the protocol used by the sender, you may choose to unsubscribe from the newsletter, or be redirected directly to the correct page to adjust your preferences.
This button is now also available in the Android app. However, this is a bit more subtle than with the web version of Gmail: when you open an email, there's no blue button, but just the text “Unsubscribe.” When you click on this, a pop-up window will appear telling you what options are available to you.
Less disruptions to your inbox
Being able to unsubscribe from newsletters has always been a chore, and therefore something people specifically put on their to-do list. After all, it takes time to go to a website and then enable or disable preferences, or even log in to your account. This Gmail feature takes a significant amount of time and frustration.
A bit sneaky, but: we also have a newsletter where we keep you up to date with the latest Android news and useful tips for getting the most out of your smartphone. We promise to put your mailbox space to good use. Prefer not to receive email, but always want to be up to date? Then it is There is also of course Our free app Or the option to contact us Follow on Google News.
