Princess Anne’s husband, Timothy Lawrence, gave the press a health update on his wife yesterday. Princess Anne has been in hospital in Bristol since the beginning of this week. That’s how things are with her now.
It was a bit of a shock when Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that King Charles’ 73-year-old sister was in hospital. Princess Anne was injured in an accident in Gatcombe Park on Sunday evening, where she suffered concussion and minor injuries. No information has yet been received about the circumstances of the accident. Timothy Lawrence visited his wife in hospital on Wednesday and later told the press about her condition.
Slow recovery
Buckingham Palace said last Monday that she is “expected to make a speedy and full recovery.” But this recovery is slower than expected. “She is slowly recovering,” Timothy Lawrence told reporters waiting for him at Southmead Hospital in Bristol yesterday. When asked if the princess could leave the hospital on Wednesday, he replied: “She will be discharged when she is ready.”
Timothy was also at her husband’s hospital bedside on Tuesday. He then told the press that she was “doing well, slowly but surely.” Princess Anne also received a visit from her daughter, Zara Tindall, this week.
