FamousAmerican fashion magazine InStyle is under fire on social media. Many readers are not happy with the cover of the latest issue with an amazing photo of Reese Witherspoon (45). “It is unrecognizable. Why are the pictures taken this way?”, it seems clear on social media. The actress herself is already satisfied with the result.
In a black Dolce & Gabbana suit, Witherspoon graces the cover of InStyle’s latest issue, in stores on November 19. The actress, who is currently starring in the second season of The Morning Show on Apple TV+, looks extremely charming and flawless. Her face, according to many readers, is very round and young. “The photos were edited in a very difficult way. Did Reese approve of these photos?” asks a fan, for example. “She looks like a completely different person.” Another reader agrees: “The actress is completely unrecognizable. What have you done to this amazing woman?” Another sneered on Twitter: “Stop taking all your pictures.”
Editor-in-chief Laura Brown responds to criticism by stressing that the photos have not been edited. “This is just the job of a good hair and makeup team,” she says. “You rarely see Reese this way – heavy makeup and in sexy clothes – and that’s exactly what we mean. We don’t want to keep women forever young at InStyle.” Although many followers do not believe this statement. “Ah, you made her twenty years younger. She even looks like her 22-year-old daughter, Ava. Stop pretending you didn’t use photoshop. You treat readers like idiots,” it sounds sharp.
Witherspoon himself sees no flaws in the result, either. In the accompanying interview, she even admitted that she likes to be confused with her daughter. “It makes me feel so small,” she admits. The actress is full of praise on Instagram: “I would like to thank the creative team behind this shoot,” she wrote. “I like to sound a tough and disobedient businesswoman.”
