LOS ANGELES — Last week’s Summer Games Festival was a largely virtual event, filled with video game trailers that may or may not release in the next 18 months. However, with the gaming industry getting closer to the conference preview, we’ve rounded up invitations for two events featuring games to play soon in early June.
You may have already seen the main practical points of these events for me: Street Fighter 6Which is great and vocal boundariesWhich is strange but promising. This article summarizes the “best of the rest” based on hands-on testing at the Summer Game Fest Play Days event in Los Angeles and a series of Tribeca Remote Games Festival demos. Some of the world’s biggest developers and publishers missed the action – many of their games may have been pushed into 2023. While this list leans more toward the indie side, we stand behind these game preview features thanks to its sense of play.

Hell fierce bullet cup It’ll be back later this month as a $7.99 DLC bundle. If the sample header level you’ve played is any indication, this DLC will be the place for fans of the series rather than flipping a file cup reverse formula.
A new playable character, Mrs. Challis, is available as a “magic” that a single player can equip at any time, and comes with a few beginner-friendly perks, including an extra health point, double jump, parry that doubles as a forward dash and flips that add a few frames of immunity. Her newfound skills weren’t necessarily required in the new boss fight she was playing – despite being pretty badass. cupI still struggle with the three phases of combat, including the sudden transition to floating platforms (I think Super Mario WorldSecond Battle of Reznor).
It’s available in a new campaign told by Executive Producer Marija Moldenhauer that Ars is similar to the original game’s third island – with seven bosses and two platforming levels. Moldenhauer says the downloadable content will feature six bosses, which she says are more advanced and complex than the default game selection, but she won’t say what additional content they will include.
Moldenhauer also says that the DLC has as many hand-drawn backgrounds and animation frames as the entire standard. cup Campaign. This could mean that boss battles that I haven’t played yet are becoming more intense or another major challenge for consoles. Either way, the $7.99 seems to be a must-have DLC option for anyone who’s already invested in it. cupCarefully hand-drawn 2D action.

At some point, the saturation of indie games “Adventure Quest” (aka “Metroidvanias”) should run its course, right? What else can someone do to top the highly acclaimed Likes hollow nightand the Axiom Vergeand the Cave story†
Although I’m not immediately convinced animal welfare The hour-long demo, which beat the genre’s greats, piqued my interest quite a bit. First, it has great new ideas for rendering pixel art, thanks to the only designer, programmer, and artist who built the game engine from scratch — trimming the entire package down to 10MB so far. The lighting and in-game physics models are some of the most impressive I’ve seen in a 16-bit aesthetic, probably beyond the pixel chemical reaction frenzy Noita†
Plus, this adventure features clever ideas to skip the fight altogether. animal welfare Players are required to focus on challenging maneuvers, solve puzzles, and discover the hidden path while discovering puzzles that hide their lack of dialogue. Instead of using weapons, your 8-pixel hero must make the most of items like fireworks – which cast light effects on the 2D world and scare away potential enemies – and an easy whip that can be thrown into cracks to grab something untouchable. † World Elements.
Spicy controls and other pixel art designs made my experience experimental with animal welfare Unforgettable yet, and looking forward to the definitive release (currently associated with the mysterious window “Early 2023”).
