Former President Donald Trump was the victim of an assassination attempt on Saturday during a speech in Pennsylvania. Despite the incident, Trump will still attend a Bitcoin (BTC) conference in Nashville, Tennessee, later this month. David Bailey, one of the event’s organizers, confirmed the news in a post on X on Sunday, and the conference will take place from July 25 to 27.

Although he was not happy with cryptocurrencies during his previous term as president, he has now become an outspoken supporter. Perhaps this is because cryptocurrencies will be a crucial issue during the November elections.
During a recent speech in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump stressed that he wants to end Biden’s fight against cryptocurrencies and secure the future of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in America.
“I will end Joe Biden’s fight against crypto, and ensure the future of crypto and Bitcoin is created in America. It will be here, and a lot of it will be happening right here in Florida,” Trump said.
Donald Trump’s Cryptocurrency Story
This is just one of several pro-crypto statements and actions the Republican has taken in recent months. Last month, he expressed his own support for the Bitcoin mining industry. For example, he said that “the remaining 21 million Bitcoins will be mined in the United States,” and that “the future of crypto will be written in America.” In May, he also began accepting crypto donations for his campaign.
The annual Bitcoin conference, held in Miami last year, is the largest Bitcoin event in the world. Last year, Miami hosted around 12,000 visitors from around the world, and this year, Nashville is expected to see around 20,000 visitors. The upcoming edition will undoubtedly be a special one, with Donald Trump taking center stage.
