zaventemTuesday morning there were problems all over the world with TUI’s check-in system. The issue was resolved in the afternoon, and the travelers’ problems remained limited in the end. “Only one flight was delayed,” says Piet Demiere of TUI Belgium.
Since Tuesday morning there have been problems with the check-in system. Hundreds of people threatened delays. “The system with which we allow travelers to check in is broken all over the world,” says Piet Demeyere, a spokesperson for TUI Belgium. So staff have to manually check in all passengers, which causes delays. The quietest day of the week, so disturbances should still be relatively limited.
“The company behind the check-in system is now calling country by country to get it up and running again. In the event of a technical problem, sometimes the solution can present itself within five minutes, sometimes it takes hours or even days. Since it’s an external problem, we don’t have No idea when it will come off the runway, but no one will miss their ride,” Pete Demiere said.
In the end, the flaw seemed to be resolved fairly quickly, with delays being limited to a single flight.
